Classical Artistry for a Contemporary World
Mary Katherine Schober is a pianist, composer, and educator based in the greater Houston area. Her work blends classical tradition with a modern, culturally aware perspective. She maintains a thriving piano studio in the Galleria district, where her students perform regularly in the community and consistently earn recognition at the local, regional, and state levels. She is active in Houston as a judge, presenter, and clinician, from local studios to the TMTA Convention. Schober currently serves as President of Forum Music Teachers’ Association, a chapter of Music Teachers’ National Association.
As a performer, Schober appears frequently throughout Houston and across Texas. Her artistic range includes collaborations in the popular music scene with Houston singer-songwriter Catterina. From 2022-2024, she toured a solo recital program featuring Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition alongside her composition, Vignettes, Op. 2. Her most recent work, Journeys, Op. 3, was released in the summer of 2025.
