Mary Katherine Schober is a pianist, composer, and educator now based in Midland, Michigan. Her work blends classical tradition with a modern, culturally aware perspective. She is currently building her private piano studio in Midland since her recent move.
During her ten years in Houston, Texas, her students performed regularly in the community and consistently earned recognition at the local, regional, and state levels. She is active as a judge, presenter, and clinician, from local studios to the TMTA Convention. Schober is the immediate past president of Forum Music Teachers’ Association in Houston, Texas, a chapter of Music Teachers’ National Association.
As a performer, Schober appeared frequently throughout Houston, and across Texas. She has performed in several states as well as New York City. Her artistic range includes collaborations in the popular music scene with Houston singer-songwriter Catterina. From 2022-2024, she toured a solo recital program featuring Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition alongside her composition, Vignettes, Op. 2. Her most recent work, Journeys, Op. 3, was released in the summer of 2025.
